Kanady Madom is a growing cultural and spiritual centre radiating and disseminating the lofty gospel of one caste one region and one God as visualized by the late Sri Narayananguru, the saintly social reformer besides providing opportunities for national and emotional integration. Even in the blistering heat of the summer, Kanadymadom Tharavadu grounds are cool and serene. The huge gigantic trees with its thick foliage do not let in the summer heat. They seem to stand testimony to the Mantras and Tantric rites of the holy ground. Prominent among the trees here are the banyan tree (arayaal-Ficus Religosa) that is gnarled by age and weather but benign in demeanour and is an old sentinel. The paala (Alstonia scholaris) trees seem to reach out to the skies and remind one of Yakshi and Gandhrava tales. Though centuries have passed and yet the time seems to stand still, the air is pregnant with serenity in this divine land where if you shut your eye for a moment and listen you can hear the “AOUM’ (Omkara the sound of universe) syllable resonate in harmony and peace.
